Bell flowers overlooking the canyon.
After a short blog session and a few chores around the house yesterday I went, and I dwelled (in possibility, of course!). This is what I saw. Man, was it a beautiful hike! I especially enjoyed the vistas of the mountains around me and the vibrant green meadows filled with beautiful wild flowers. I'm not quite sure why, but the wild flowers have really caught my eye this season. We've gotten a lot of rain this summer, more so than any other summer I've lived in Montana; perhaps this is why the blooms are more plentiful and colorful than in past years. It is getting hotter though, hence the haze in the pictures above, so I'm sure the days of the wildflowers are numbered.
The hike must have been a bit more strenuous than I thought too-- my legs are still burning a day later. I guess the burning could be a sign that I'm just out of shape, but who wants to dwell in that possibility?? ;)
So what kind of possibilities dwell in your weekend? I'd love to hear about what you have planned or whatever just happens to happen. Happy Friday, and happy adventuring! :)

love it! emily you seriously live in the most beautiful place! i cant wait to come visit.
im ready for the weekend. my adventuring is not as beautiful (farmers market, thrift shop, the gym and the bars haha) but hopefully an adventure all the same!
Alissa-
I hope you have a great weekend! I don't have a whole lot planned, if that makes you feel better. I try to take the weekend off from popular adventures as we are not the only ones who think this is the most beautiful place; it's a lot easier to avoid the masses by adventuring during the week.
tootles,

Miss H,
"Those that compare themselves among themselves are not wise..." so I won't compare/contrast your local hiking vistas to mine. (If I did... which I won't... you'd win... oops, I did it again.)
Friday: Dinner on the patio, fun and games at home.
Saturday: Morning at home, composing a blog, etc., and then... three hours of racquetball. A recent record. I think I've worked up to it.
Sat. afternoon --- recovery. ;-)
Sunday -- avoid the crowds who don't have weekdays off!
Glad to see you enjoying your summer. (Hiking is a sport too! Only prettier.)
I don't know, Don, from the pictures you've shown of California (especially of the ones you've shown during winter or early spring) I'm not sure I'd win. In some ways every place is beautiful in its own way, so I agree... sometimes it's better not to compare... maybe just better to experience. :)
Sounds like a great weekend! Good luck in avoiding the weekend warior crowds... I'm trying to do the same!
That third picture is just to die for. The lines in the water create a perfect glassy plane - you have a great camera!
My friend is visiting this weekend. We're going to a 'hotspot' tonight. I also bought some yarn...and reviewed my budget, and cried a little.
Saphron-
Thanks for the kind words, and yay for a visit from your friend! If it makes you feel any better, which I'm sure it doesn't, I have a love-hate relationship with money and have cried many a time over my the state of my budget... but hey, at least we have cameras! ;) and friends!
